Shopaholic Holidays
Many people choose to do their Christmas shopping abroad now because many top fashion destinations are very easy to get to because more local airports provide flights to them. By doing your shopping in a different country you’ll be able to pick up some fantastic items that will be unique and probably not sold here in the UK. Also you can pick up some duty free bargains to act as stocking fillers. Whilst on a shopping holiday you can have a well deserved rest in a cafe in any of the previously mentioned destinations and soak up the culture of busy metropolises.
New York is probably the most popular destination currently for a shopping spree and again mainly during the Christmas period, this is because there are a lot of well known events that occur such as the turning on of the Christmas lights and opening of the public ice rink outside of the Rockefella Centre. There are other very good destinations that won’t be as expensive as some places when you’re thinking of a shopping holiday like Prague where you can pick up a great antique, bargain hunting in Dubai or head to Amsterdam and pick up a pair of clogs.
There is definitely a growing trend of travelling to buy great presents for whatever reason, and it is a great idea to find some truly outstanding gifts.
